Alice in Stripes

Alice in Stripes- I finished my second challenge for the Altered Alice blog monthly challenge... on time!  :) DS says it looks fairy-like. :)

The process for this tag went like this: cut striped scrap paper in the shape of the shipping tag and glued to tag; stamped paper with purple Staz On ink; colored Alice image with Prisma Color colored pencils and inked torn edges with purple ink; adhere Alice image; applied chipboard circle; cut a mask to cover Alice's face and arms and sprayed with iridescent mica ink spray; edged tag with black marker; adhered mica ink sprayed cheesecloth; adhered assembled circle/flower/staple/Stickled/doodled embellishment; cut novelty yarn and ribbon and looped through hole at top.  (Add in breaks for working on projects for DH's b-day with DS. ;)

Horsin' Around

Couldn't resist the cheesy title.  :)

Before diving into the Vision Board full time, Artist Trading Cards were occupying my studio time quite a bit.  Creative play time is high on the docket now and listening to "what I felt like doing most" ended up being small, easy to focus on ATC's.  Only this one is scanned so far, but what it is composed of follows: a bit of Somerset Studio Artist paper, a couple Art Chix images (my precious pet and inchies world?), an Art Chix transparency and "Back in Black" bit, a fabric scrap, some staples and a pencil outlining the images.

More ATC's to follow, and the birthday projects A and I are working on for DH's celebration coming up soon.  The 2nd Vision Board is underway as well as a sewing project.

Looking forward to teaching my belly dance class tomorrow at the Cultural Trust Educational Center!!

Let's Get It Started!

Greets me as I turn at the top of the stairs to my beloved attic art space.  Marker of one sort or another.

Oh, ironing beautiful fabric... what a way to spend time!

Beginnings (maybe middle of) a vision board.

Getting things started before Mars goes into retrograde on January 23rd.  Also have some more sewing projects to start before then, because you know if things aren't started before then, your energy for them is nil.  Just saying'.  Take the weekend to get all those New Year's projects started!!!

Art for Sale, Art for Play, and Art that Moves

There's a new album on my Facebook profile.  Some of the items I have for sale are posted and I will list them on Etsy for you if you would like to buy.  All items will go into a listing made specifically for you and your actual shipping cost (vs. an estimate) will also be listed.  Enjoy! :)

This is but one of the Artist Trading Cards I've enjoyed making as of late.  Such a nice, no pressure way to enjoy playing with my supplies.  More to be posted soon.

Monday's Open House at the Cultural Trust was a great success!  Lots of people and a great response for my class... it's very very exciting!

You (and your friends who are interested) can register here for the weekly class starting tomorrow at 7:00pm: http://trustarts.culturaldistrict.org/event/3287/belly-dance-class

Focus for the New Year

This canvas is hung at the top of the stairs going into my attic studio, so now I see it every time I walk in there.  (The colors are a bit weird- the walls are more lavender, not the strange pink here.)  When I meditated and asked "What do I want?" these words appeared... not all at once, but over several sessions.  This reminder is one way I'm focusing for the new year.

Wishing you peace, joy and freedom too!
